Description of jobs
* The Outreach Services and Adult Programming team supports NYL´s neighborhood and research libraries by providing training and advice on community outreach and programs, and is responsible for the development of general adult programming and targeted outreach to peaple with disabilities, immigrants with English as a second language, the homeless, veterans, people in prison, and people aged 50 and over.
Main responsibilities of the job vacancies
* The Customer Relations Liaison will work with Outreach Manager and Library staff to connect patrons to the NYCitizenship program, particularly in these 4 neighborhooda: Mott Havem and Fordham in the Bronx, Midtown and Inwood in Manhattan. The Customer Relations Liaison will facilitate community information sessions around NYCitizenship services and assist in implementation of this program.
About job
* Coordinate a regular schedule of information sessions and workshops
* Liaise with Library Staff and Legal Service Provider staff to ensure clear communication and successful program coordination
* Place calls to NYCitizenship clientes to remind them of their appointments
* Provide Information, assistence and outreach materials to NYPL staff regarding NYCitizenship
* Collect NYCitizenship program statistics and provide regular reports to help monitor one-on-one appointments, information sessions, and financial counseling sessions
* Promote NYCitizenship to Library patrons
* Conduct other outreach duties in support of NYCitizenship
* Provide patrons with referrals to NYPL services and resources
* Participate in relevant trainings and meetings
* Performs related duties as required
Minimum qualifications for jobs
* Bachelor´s degree and a minimum of one year relevant work experience; or an equivalet combination of education and experience
* Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
* Strong organization and planning skills, including the ability to perform multiple projects or tasks simultaneouly
* Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
* Commitement to diversity, inclusion and providing hihg quality public service
* Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, the Internet and e e-mail programs
* Successfully demonstrated public service experience with the ability to work well with a diverse patronage
Preferred qualifications for jobs
* Bilingual English/Spanich
* Bachelor´s Degree
* Knowledge of library immigrant services and multilingual programming; understanding of library policies and procedures a plus
